Description of vicinity: The unique natural enviroment of the Tatras offers all-year round outdoor activities for visitors of all age grouops whether they are active sportsmen, senior citizens or families with small children. Activities such as hiking, rock climbing and skiing are just some of the most popular activities. But there are also many others activities including mountain cycling, horse riding, paragliding, swimming or even rafting along local rivers. The only limit for outdoor activities are those set by the individual. Safety of visitors is provided for by the well trained and skilled Mountain Rescue Service. The professional services provided by the Tatras Guides Association, Ski Schools, Travel Agencies and the Tatra Information Board are available to assist visitors to make the best of their visit to the Region. For those who prefer the more adventurous activities such as "off-piste" skiing, or free climbing should be aware that any kind of human activity outside of marked hiking trails is permitted only with approval of Tanap - National Park Headquarters.
Our SPA is located in popular centre of Smokovce (Stary, Novy, Horny, Dolny), in central part of High Tatras.
Smokovce - the oldest tourist - recreational area in the High Tatras. It is situated in the southern slope of the Slavkovský Peak. It is an important starting point for hikes to the central part of the High Tatras.
The local demand for the Smokovec mineral water has its roots decades ago. It is not excluded that it was connected with belief in old-Slavic Gods of natural resources.

Hrebienok (1285 m) is a significant tourist and ski centre above Starý Smokovec (Old Smokovec), in the southern slope of the Slavkovský Peak.
It has been popular for the visitors of Old Smokovec since the half of the 19-th century. Before the first buildings in Hrebienok were built, the Cold Creek Spas in the north-east slope next to the Bilíková Chalet had already stand. In 1894 a road next to the tourist path and in 1908 a ground cable car were built.

Štrbské pleso (1346 m) is the most famous and the most visited lake in the High Tatras. It is called Štrbské because it is situated in the Štrba district and in village Śtrba.

Tatranská Lomnica An important tourist - recreational village, situated on the both sides of the road „Freedom". It is a suitable starting point for hikes to the central and eastern part of the High Tatras.

Ždiar is situated in Bela Valley. A part of this area lies on the slopes of Spišská Magura.
It is attractive for tourists by excellent ski facilities and well built infrastructure.

There is a lot of caves in High or Low Tatras: Belianska cave, Vazecka cave, Demanovska cave of liberty, Demanovska ice cave, Dobsinska ice cave..
Spissky castle, on a dolomite rock 200 m above the surrounding land, at the elevation of 634 m, is one of the most precious cultural monuments in the Spiš region.
Javorina is a small village situated in a forested area of the northern end of Rogová below the Belianske Tatras, a starting point for hiking Kopske sedlo or Javorova dolina.

Osturňa This 7 km long village is situated in the valley of Osturniansky potok (Osturniansky Creek). Houses were built in a line very close next to each other. Gaps between houses were successively covered by roofs, somewhere even across the street. Some people still wear original goral folk-costumes.

Pribylina The most attractive for tourists is a Museum of a traditional Liptov Region Village. The museum collects remains from the village that was flooded by building a water dam Liptovská Mara. The museum creates a model of several landlord villages. The high buildings of a late-gothic manor-house in Parížovce and an early-gothic church of Virgin Mary in Liptovská Mara dominate in the local architecture.

Východná known for its wooden amfiteater under open air with annual folk festival

Liptovská Teplička is a large mountainy and agricultural village, attractive for tourists (919 m). It is situated in the upper part of the river Čierny Váh (Black Váh), at the bottom of the northern slope of the Kráľova Hoľa peak, 33 km in the east from Kráľova Lehota, 30 km in the southwest from Poprad.
Most of the houses in the village were made of wood and had open yards until the 20-th century. Home-made canvas were used for making clothes, carpets, table-cloths, bed-sheets etc.

Vernár is a vigorous mountain village situated in the Vernár Creek Valley, dividing the National Park of the Slovak Paradise from the Nízke Tatry (Low Tatras) National Park. People living in the village still keep old folklore customs.

Recommended travel route by bus: A lot of bus links is crossing Stary Smokovec, bus station is just 200 metres from our hotels.

Recommended travel route by train: Train: internation train station is in Poprad (15 km), from there to our hotels by taxi, bus or electric tatric train.

Recommended travel route by car: Fast road n. E50 (Žilina - Košice), in Poprad continue on n. 534 (High Tatras) to Nový Smokovec.

The High Tatras are an ideal place for company meetings and an active relax in the nature. The congress centre is situated in the hotel complex of Spa Novy Smokovec and is connected to the Hotel PALACE and the Restaurant SVIŠŤ.
